Ingredients
neutral cooking oil (like avocado oil), 1 tbsp
80/20 ground beef, 1.5 - 2 lbs
kosher salt, 1 tsp
ground black pepper, 1 tsp
-
gourmend green onion powder, 1 tsp
-
gourmend garlic chive powder, 1 tsp
-
gourmend organic beef bone broth, 1 cup
-
gourmend taco seasoning, 1 tbsp
ground cumin, 1 tbsp
cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat), ¼ tsp
diced tomatoes, 1 15oz can
unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 tbsp
Directions
Heat the oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high. Add the ground beef in a single layer, breaking apart with a wooden spoon. Season with salt, pepper, cumin, cayenne (if using) and Gourmend Green Onion, Garlic Chive and Taco powders. Cook until meat is browned, about 5 minutes.
Reduce the heat to medium and add the canned diced tomatoes, cocoa powder & Gourmend Beef Broth stirring to combine. Reduce the heat to low and allow to simmer, covered, for 15 minutes stirring every 5 minutes or so to prevent burning. Remove the cover and allow to simmer an additional 15 minutes, continuing to stir frequently.
Once chili is fully cooked, about 30-35 minutes, serve warm and top with grated cheddar cheese, lactose free sour cream or greek yogurt, scallions and fresh cilantro.
Recipe Note
NOTE: Grated cheddar, lactose free greek yogurt or sour cream, sliced scallions (green parts only) and fresh cilantro optional for serving
